This book throws you into the deep end of Glasgow. You follow a slightly aloof boy, Mungo, as he figures out he's gay in the early 90s. This book isn't for the faint of heart and I found myself wanting to coddle Mungo. Douglas Stuart knows how to write a character who will just jump off the page.
