Mother-Daughter Murder Night

A great debut mystery with cozy outdoorsy vibes and an intergenerational detective team-up

I thoroughly enjoyed Nina Simon's debut mystery. I liked that the setting is Elkhorn Slough, a marshland of California; as a reader, I felt like I got to explore a unique and wonderful outdoor place. I also liked that the story brought together three generations of women: grandmother, mom, daughter, who have their differences, but also learn to repair their relationships and find common ground. This story pulled me in with the family drama, wonderful setting, and a mystery full of many twists and turns.
