I love this series! Not only does Neil Gaiman masterfully tackle these remarkable characters, but if you're anything like me and love guessing characters identities (even though some, like "Sir Nicholas Fury", are not hard to guess) you will love seeing all these different characters and what role they play in the 17th century. Not only is this for comic nerds but anyone who loves a little history, sci-fi, and fantasy will enjoy. I also highly recommend to people who aren't familiar with Marvel or the characters because this is essentially an AU (alternate universe) so it can be read as a standalone! No previous knowledge required.
