I love a good novel-in-verse!

Samira’s had a bad reputation for years, no matter how undeserved, and she’s never been able to get the benefit of the doubt from her mother or the aunties of the community. So when rumor strikes and Samira is grounded for the summer (with the single exception of a poetry workshop), she pushes back against the unfairness of it all. Posting her feelings on an online poetry forum, she meets Horus and falls fast and hard. But as their relationship grows, so too do the secrets that Samira is keeping - from her friends, her mother, her poetry teacher, and even herself. 
I’m a sucker for a good YA novel in verse, so I was really happy when my book club picked this title to discuss. I loved the sparseness of words that still manage to capture the depth of emotion that Samira is going through.
