What if a house called to you in your dreams?

Opal had a difficult childhood and is trying desperately to provide a better future for her younger brother, Jasper.  They live in Eden, Kentucky – a town where bad luck seems commonplace.  Since she was twelve, Opal has been dreaming of a mansion known as Starling House – the former home of the author of her favorite children’s book.  One day, the gates of Starling House open up for her.
This book can be described in many ways: gothic, fantasy, sci-fi, horror.  Opal is a refreshing protagonist - she's a petty thief with crooked teeth.  If you’re a fan of season 4 of “Stranger Things,” you might enjoy this book.
