The Secret History

A slow-burner that rewards patience.

It only took me 3+ decades to read this, and I am happy I finally got around to it.Inspired by the dishy podcast Once Upon a Time at Bennington College, I dove into the first novel by one of Bennington's most famous graduates, Donna Tartt. At first, it took me a while to get into the flow of the book and I must admit I almost tossed it in the "I give up" pile. Eventually, I picked it back up and that was a most wise decision. I recommend this book for anyone interested in the "Dark Academia" literary subgenre. The Secret History is a book that rewards patience, and the more I think of it, the more I am convinced it is a work of genius. It will continue to be read and obsessed over for years and decades to come.
