The power/glam/punk pop pranksters from Hawthorne, CA are back with a terrific new album

The California-based brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald, who are the heart and soul of Redd Kross, have been making music just slightly outside the the periphery of mass popularity since they were teenagers in the late '70s. Their love of classic '60s pop, '70s glam rock, KISS-inspired hard rock theatrics, and even hardcore punk have both flavored and inspired the music they've made as Redd Kross.

Jeff and Steve are back in 2024 with their 8th album, a self-titled record with a solid red cover (inspired by The Beatles' White Album). Jeff and Steve, ever the jokesters, have referred to this album as "The Redd Album." Though not quite as wide-ranging as that Beatles opus, The Redd Album is still an eclectic compendium of every genre that has inspired Jeff and Steve over the years. Over 18 tracks of pop, glam, rock, and even balladry, the McDonald brothers prove themselves to be as fun and enthusiastic as they were when they first started over four decades ago.
