I love a good slow burn. I love a good romance where the story isn't all about the lovey dovey and actually focuses on characters and their development and a solid, developing plot. Kennedy Ryan stepped her game up with this book. The risk she took was calculated, and she won with this one. Choosing to write a romance where the main character hasn't flung herself head first into love or lust or infatuation is such a good move and honestly just makes the story better. This Could Be Us is such an engaging read and for fans of romance who are looking for a change of pace.
