John Coniston is the manager of a cash counting house he leads a normal life, married and scraping by in order to pay his mortgage. The books at the counting house are always balanced, with nothing going missing without him knowing about it. But that all changes one day when, while checking the accounts, he notices that 50,000 pounds has gone missing. When he suspects two men, a security guard and forklift driver of being responsible for the missing money, he confronts them. Instead of turning them in to the authorities, he offers them a way out that will change their lives forever.
