Desire, I want To Turn Into You

An eclectic album that even features bagpipes!

This is one of my favorite albums of recent years. It features a wide variety of musical styles. Polachek herself has described it as "a very maximalist album". It is impressive that this album feels very cohesive despite the change in style for each track. 

Certain songs share short melodies or lyrical references in a fun and subtle way as well. If I have to choose, my favorite track is "Blood and Butter" which has an incredible bagpipe solo at the end of the song.

Anyone who enjoys eccentric and modern music would enjoy this album. If you enjoy unique vocal patterns in music, this album is also for you. And if you have ever listened to the indie synth-pop group Chairlift, Caroline Polachek was also in that band, and you would likely enjoy her new work too.
