What if the stepsisters weren't so horrible after all?

In this retelling of Cinderella, we are asked to look at the "ugly" stepsisters in a different light. Isabelle spends her life, post-slipper-fitting-attempt, trying to be the person her mother expects her to be. I liked this take on the stepsister story, because at it's root it is really a story of female empowerment and inspiration for young girls going for what their heart truly desires. The story dips into theories on fate and destiny, while staying tied to historical events and the original fairy tale.
